The French gourmet box of Cher gastronomy

A Berrichon gourmet hamper direct from the Cher department, filled with products from authentic small producers of this region, which will take you on a voyage of discovery of this generous Berrichon gastronomy, with some very fine gourmet discoveries..

Cuvée Gris 2022, Les Demoiselles Tatin, pinot gris, AOC Reuilly (75 cl)

vin-aoc-reuilly-les-demoiselles-tatinWinegrower : Les Demoiselles Tatin - Domaine de Tremblay, Chantal Wilk and Jean Tatin.
Gold Medal, Concours Général Agricole de Paris.

On their vineyard certified Terra Vitis since 2017 and Haute Valeur Environnementale since 2020, Chantal and Jean offer wines that express the terroirs on which their vines flourish. Starting with this pinot gris.

Pinot Gris is better known in Alsace than in the center of France, yet it shows a very beautiful face in AOC Reuilly! It's classified as a rosé, but vinified as a white. Its color comes from the pigments (anthocyanins) contained in the skin of Pinot Gris berries.

Well-known in Berry, this astonishing Pinot Gris vin gris will astonish you with its suppleness and finesse. On the palate, it combines fruity flavors of peach, apricot and cherry... making it a wine of pure pleasure to discover as an aperitif in your Cher boxed set.

Crunchy goat's cheese Crottin de Chavignol aperitif shortbread cookies (100 g)

biscuit-crottin-chavignolArtisan : Biscuiterie Saveurs des Marais, Florian and Aurélie Gourdon.

Biscuiterie Saveurs des Marais de Bourges is a small, family-run artisanal sweet and savory cookie factory in the heart of Bourges. They hand-make their cookies, carefully selecting local produce to delight our taste buds.

The Cher region abounds in artisanal products, starting with cheese and the inevitable goat's cheese crottin de chavignol.

Our craftsman incorporates the crottin de Chavignol goat's cheese into these delicious shortbreads, without additives, flavoring or preservatives, rolling them in the traditional way to obtain a taste and texture that's sure to seduce you and get your Berrichon aperitif off to a good start. A shorbread that brings you a really good sample of the Cher region finesse.

Sweet and sour zucchini aperitif pickles (180 g)

pickles-courgettes-berryArtisan : Conserverie artisanale Les Délices de Sologne, Famille Valleye.

To be enjoyed as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to terrine and charcuterie, or with grilled fish or raclette, zucchini is prepared here like a pickle to obtain a tasty, flavorful product, cooked simply to highlight the subtlety of this beautiful summer vegetable.

Watch out, it's addictive!

Artisanal Bolognese sauce with Angus beef from the Cher region(400 g)

bolognaise-angus-berryArtisan: La Ferme de Neuvy family farm, Clémence de Chabot.

After careful consideration, Clémence decided to return to her family's land to devote herself to raising Aberdeen Angus cattle, a hardy (but social!) breed of Scottish origin that is highly adaptable to climatic conditions and its environment. With no need to add concentrates, cereals or corn silage, it lives outdoors all year round and feeds on grass and whatever else it can find, giving its meat a unique, melt-in-the-mouth taste that is highly prized by connoisseurs... In fact, in 2009, Aberdeen Angus was selected to be cooked by top chefs as part of the Bocuse d'Or competition!

From this high-quality meat, Clémence has concocted a delicious Bolognese sauce to accompany your home-made pasta... You're in for a treat.

Simply heat the sauce in a saucepan over low heat and you're ready to eat!

Artisanal twisted pasta, plain & porcini blend (250 g)

pates-artisanales-fabre-berryArtisan: Maison Pâtes Fabre, producer of artisanal pasta.

For all mushroom lovers!

This pasta is made by one of France's last artisanal pasta makers from natural ingredients: top-quality durum wheat semolina, porcini mushrooms, boletus and berries. That's all there is to it! The dough is first laminated, using multi-layer folding (1000 layers are superimposed over 8 millimeters) before being left to rest to air. Next, the cut product is dried at low temperature (between 26º and 36º C) for 24 hours to preserve the dough's natural nutrients (80º C for 4 hours for industrial pasta!) and tasty texture. But don't overcook: 2 to 4 minutes, depending on taste, in a large volume of boiling salted water, stirring 1 or 2 times.

The pasta itself is delicious with a drizzle of olive oil and a few shavings of Parmesan, for example.

But, of course, accompany it with the delicious Bolognese sauce from your Cher box for a gourmet treat!

Berry sucrine savory orange-flavored organic artisan jam (250 g)

confiture-artisanale-sucrine-berryArtisan: Ferme des Ganivets and Les Vergers du Boischaut, Le Relais, Association de solidarité et d'insertion.

At the Ferme des Ganivets, in the heart of the Berry region, an association helps socially and economically disadvantaged people find lasting employment by transforming the fruit and vegetables grown on the farm's five hectares into jams, syrups and delicious fruit jellies.

We'd like to introduce you to their jam made from an interesting squash native to the Cher region. Sucrine du Berry squash is a variety of cucurbit whose light-orange, musky flesh is tender, sweet and highly fragrant, making it a prime raw material for gourmets.

In organic jam with orange zest, Ferme des Ganivets treats us to a little nugget to be discovered as soon as possible..

Authentic Croquet du Berry, a delicious crunchy hazelnut cookie (170 g)

croquet-du-berryArtisan: Chocolaterie & confiserie Royale.

Croquet du Berry, a specialty of the Berry region, is much more than a simple hazelnut and fresh egg cookie. It's a crisp, crunchy cookie that's also melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The recipe remains secret and unchanged: a natural fruit and plant extract is added to the list of ingredients (this is its manufacturing secret) and the croquets are still rolled by hand.

Kids will love these cookies! And adults too...

Bon Voyage in France in the Berry region!
