A gourmet basket filled with authentic products from small producers in the Allier region that will take you on a journey of discovery of this unequalled gastronomy of central France, with some very nice gourmet discoveries..
Winemaker: Jean-Louis Petillat, vigneron récoltant, Domaine de Bellevue.
Nestled in the heart of Allier, in the Meillard commune, the 22-hectare vineyard of Domaine de Bellevue is run by Jean-Louis Petillat, armed with the family wisdom acquired over three generations and an unconditional passion for winemaking that allows him to capture the essence of the AOP Saint-Pourçain in his bottles.
Les Roches Grises is a fruity, elegant red that owes its fine tannins to the granite subsoil of Meillard in which the vines are planted. This Saint-Pourçain wine with spiced notes is a coupage of Pinot Noir and Gamay, the two red grape varieties in this protected designation of origin. Part of the wine is aged in Allier oak barrels.
A pleasurable, elegant, silky, gourmet wine with a subtle hint of freshness, this red is perfect for pairing with grilled red meats or sauce-based dishes. We loved every sip!
Artisan: Huilerie de Lapalisse, maître huilier, Famille Paillard Chervier.
Founded in the late 19th century, the Lapalisse mill produces oils of exquisite delicacy. Rich in vitamin E, this golden yellow hazelnut oil has a very elegant, balanced, unique flavour.
Perfect for lending a touch of distinction to your salads, condiments and dressings.
Artisan Pots d'Anne, petite « fabrique » artisanale de condiments, Anne Vernis.
In Allier, we came across a culinary artisan of unparalleled skill: Anne grows a variety of vegetables, fruits and aromatic plants and uses her own fresh seasonal produce to prepare original recipes.
Your Allier gourmet hamper includes her delightful courgette spread with mint and lemon juice: guaranteed freshness and delicacy in every bite.
Breeder-artisan : La Ferme des Grillons, exploitation familiale en Agriculture Biologique, Louis Renaud et Richard Néant, producteurs fermiers et charcutiers.
In the north of Auvergne, near Moulins, Ferme des Grillons raises free-range pigs and prepares delicious products at the farm’s own small food factory. With the utmost respect for the land, plants, animals and people, these artisans have been committed to sustainable organic agriculture since 1993.
And their country pâté is as good as their eco-friendly philosophy: spread on a piece of bread, you’ll be blown away by the texture and flavour of their artisanal savoir-faire.
Artisan: GAEC de la Croix Soleil, charcuterie fermière, Sylvie Mercier & Hervé Chemel.
This artisanal farm raises and processes its own meat, which foodies can also sample at their epicurean restaurant in Désertines.
Your Allier gourmet hamper contains a taste of this traditional delicacy, slowly stewed in a Saint-Pourçain wine sauce. Warm over low heat and dig in.
Artisan : Maison Moinet, confiseur artisanal de Vichy, Famille Moinet
Maison Moinet is Vichy's oldest confectionery, founded in 1852, and the only local, independent, artisanal factory run by the same family for seven generations. We wanted you to try their delightfully fruity pâtes de fruits, jelly squares that melt in your mouth.
Made with pure fruit pulp of the highest quality, each square is a sweet explosion of gourmet flavour.
Artisan: Maison Moinet, confiseur artisanal de Vichy, Famille Moinet.
No culinary tour of Allier would be complete without trying the pastilles of Vichy, France’s most famous spa town.
These refreshing little morsels also promote good digestion thanks to the mineral salts extracted from Allier spring water. A minty pleasure you simply can’t resist!
Artisan: Aux Vérités de Lapalisse, confiserie et pâtisserie familiale, Laure-Anne Maggini et Franck Perret.
And to cap off your tasty tour of Allier, a delectable biscuit from an amazing bakery in Lapalisse.
Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, it’s the perfect ending to any meal, although you’ll also love it with a steaming cuppa.

Every month, we have our new gourmet boxes tested by independent testers (we don't pay them! We just send them one of our boxes), specialized in the world of gourmet boxes, to get external opinions (we would obviously put 10/10 every time...) and to make our latest gourmet baskets known, because we are proud of them, and we have to play the game of criticism...
The unanimous results of the tests of our gourmet box of the Alps special Haute-Savoie in the site of LaBoxDuMois: a lot of enthusiasm!
