A gourmet Christmas hamper filled with products from small, authentic Dordogne producers, taking you on a voyage of discovery of an extremely rich, varied and high-quality culinary production. Périgord in celebration!
Winemaker: Château Court Les Mûts, Pierre-Jean Sadoux.
Located in the south of the Dordogne, this 17th-century wine estate has been run since 1960 by the Sadoux family, passionate winegrowers who welcome you with pleasure and passion to talk about their Bergerac wines.
This AOC Côtes de Bergerac red wine from Château Court Les Mûts is made, as in the neighboring Bordeaux region, with the 3 great red grape varieties of a Bordeaux: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, and will delight you with its full body, aromatic complexity and great elegance.
This pleasurable wine with red fruit aromas and round tannins can be enjoyed now and over the next five years with red meats, cheeses and powerful dishes.
Serve at 18°C.
Artisan Producer: Domaine de Béquignol.
These divine sweets are the creation of Domaine de Béquignol, an artisan chocolatier for over forty years, specializing in combining chocolate and caramel with local fruits, such as walnuts of course.
Based in Carlux, this team of craftsmen makes all its creations on site in a totally artisanal way, far from standardization. Here, the walnuts retain all their crunch without being smothered in caramel, and the hint of turmeric only adds to the finesse of this little aperitif nugget..
Welcome to gourmet Dordogne for Christmas!
Artisan canner: Maison Foie Gras Espinet, traditional cannery, Espinet family.
Founded in 1936, Maison Espinet is a family-run business specializing in the production of gourmet products from the Périgord region. Committed to offering the very best duck products, they work exclusively with IGP (Protected Geographical Identification) certified Foie Gras duck from south-west Périgord.
Their products are made with respect for tradition, while meeting today's demands for quality and food safety.
This sweet and savory Christmas spread is a perfect example: a gourmet, melt-in-your-mouth delight on a piece of toast.
For a successful Christmas aperitif!
Artisan: Maison Lembert, artisanal cannery .
The Dordogne is home to a wealth of wonderful harvested produce, starting of course with chestnuts and mushrooms, with the cep as king.
This vegan spread is a true concentrate of this generous terroir, where the sweetness of the chestnut blends deliciously with the strength of the cep.
A perfect balance!
Artisan canner: Maison Foie Gras Espinet, artisan cannery, Famille Espinet.
For the dish in our Christmas gourmet box, we had no doubts during our tastings.
We all fell in love with the Civet de Canard from Maison Espinet: a magnificent recipe made with quality products could only result in a great culinary success!
Just heat it up in a saucepan over a low heat and off you go!
Artisan: Les Moutardes du Périgord, artisan mustard maker, Théo Négrier and Mateo Perot Apisphere.
Handcrafted in their Périgord workshop, this mustard is made from 100% French seeds, which is rare enough to be noted. Half of the mustard seeds used to make this culinary mustard come from Alsace, the other half from local organic production in Périgord itself.
Thanks to a partnership with committed farmers, our artisan is able to offer you this old-fashioned mustard, whose taste and texture you'll immediately notice is different from that of conventional mustard.
You'll particularly appreciate it to enhance the taste of the civet in your Christmas gourmet basket, or for your salads, for example.
Artisan: Biscuiterie Lou Cocal.
We couldn't pass up this deliciously crunchy culinary specialty either. This pretty golden sun is a walnut nougatine coated in shortbread dough.
You'd be wrong to miss out this Christmas, as walnuts are full of nutritional virtues. In addition to its cholesterol-lowering properties, walnuts are rich in magnesium and vitamin E, and are a valuable source of energy.
What more can we say? Beware, it can become a real gourmet addiction!
Artisan : Apisphere, miellerie artisanale, Théo Négrier and Mateo Perot.
To round off the tasting of our Christmas gourmet basket, you'll probably join us in succumbing to this honey-hazelnut spread, a perfect marriage of roasted hazelnuts and sweet Périgord honey. Created by our artisan in collaboration with Moulin de la Veysière, it's irresistibly creamy, ideal on fresh bread, pancakes or with a spoon.
A gourmet Christmas experience that can be summed up in three words: hazelnut, honey and pleasure.
Every month, we have our new gourmet boxes tested by independent testers (we don't pay them! We just send them one of our boxes), specialized in the world of gourmet boxes, to get external opinions (we'd obviously give them 10/10 every time...) and publicize our latest gourmet baskets, because we're proud of them, and we have to play the game of criticism...
The excellent results of our Parisian gourmet box test on the Laboxdumois website: not bad!
